Regarding newborn testing for G6PD deficiency, this publication erroneously indicates that MOST states test for this most frequent enzyme deficiency known to man, at birth. Right now ONLY Washington and Pennsylvania test for this, that's ONLY TWO STATES THAT TEST. That's a far cry from MOST. This would lead parents to believe their child was likely tested and is well. NIH is supposed to be THE source for Americans, yet they failed most infants in this particular aspect. Further copies need to be fixed. Indeed NIH should PROMOTE all states to require newborn testing for G6PD deficiency.
